Ednaha Rebeccah

Installation Artist Curator
Ednah Rebeccah is an innovative, self-taught installation artist from Kampala, renowned for her "organic media art" that transforms natural and discarded objects into deeply emotive installations. Her work invites viewers to step beyond the surface, creating immersive, site-specific experiences that evoke everything from tranquillity to challenge. With each project, Ednah brings her heart to the canvas, blending nature and recycled materials into compositions that resonate with viewers, making them feel seen, heard, and connected.
Grounded in both artistic vision and practical insight, Ednah holds a BA in Commerce and Information Systems and an MBA in Finance, which enrich her creative process with analytical depth. Her installations often play with light and texture, making spaces come alive with reflections of memory, human connection, and shared experience. This balance between her business acumen and creative intuition allows her to create art that is both visually striking and deeply thoughtful.

Ednah also left her mark on Kampala’s cultural scene through her curation of the Kampala Night Market at 7th Street Industrial Area. Across 11 editions, she shaped the market into a vibrant hub, uniting art, local crafts, and community in an engaging and accessible setting. Her work with the market highlights her dedication to creating spaces where people can experience art in their everyday lives, fostering meaningful connections between local creatives and the public.

In her career as a Communications Specialist at CivSource Africa, Ednah has shown the same commitment to authentic storytelling, shaping narratives that go beyond surface details to connect with people’s lives and experiences. From developing strategic social media campaigns to managing public relations, she amplifies voices that need to be heard.
Her work on initiatives like the Gathering of Givers, 4 editions and her involvement in curating all 3 volumes of Jacqueline Asiimwe’s Walk Talk Connect series reflect her dedication to sparking conversations that bring people closer together, fostering real moments of connection.

One of Ednah’s standout series, Portrait of Licht, explores light as a bridge between human lives. Here, Ednah invites viewers to reflect on the "light trails" they leave behind—their impacts on others and the world. In a world that sometimes feels divided, Ednah’s art speaks to our shared luminosity, our capacity to illuminate each other’s paths and build a collective legacy. Her installations are an emotional journey, inviting us to reconnect with the essence of what makes us human.

Outside of her professional life, Ednah finds joy in self-portraits a hobby that allows her to step out of the daily cocoon and embrace different facets of herself. Posing for her own camera is both a creative outlet and a way to shed the layers of her everyday self, embracing freedom, expression, and renewal. This personal practice mirrors her art’s changing essence, as each portrait becomes an exploration of identity and a step toward self-discovery.

Her role as Program Support Specialist at the Kuonyesha Art Fund further illustrates her dedication to creative collaboration and uplifting others. Ednah brings her energy to every detail, from managing grants to coordinating community events, infusing each project with care and precision. Through her roles, she has learned that art is not just about creating, it's about listening, connecting, and giving back to the communities that inspire her.
Ednah Rebeccah’s work reflects a rare blend of vision, and purpose. Whether transforming a space into an evocative art installation or crafting stories that resonate on social media, Ednah’s work connects us to each other, to our inner selves, and to the world around us. She continues to inspire, creating spaces that invite us to pause, reflect, and recognize the beauty of our shared journey.
