Keith Mugenyi

Keith Mugenyi (Mugenyi Keith Divine) is a Ugandan nationality, a Munyoro by tribe and a proud African who has managed to master his craft when it comes to African music and instruments. He is a multi-instrumentalist who is very passionate when it comes to African sound and he plays all the African instruments one can think about (Ugandan instruments in particular). Keith Mugenyi is also a traditional dance choreographer and a director of a traditional dance troupe known as Afrique Arts Troupe where he grew up learning African music and dance. Keith Mugenyi started his journey in music at the age of seven while being guided by the mother Mugenyi Mariam Amooti a dance teacher. Since Mugenyi started his journey he has never looked back whereby he has performed and worked with a number of organizations and people, plus him performing on events with his band (band X). Since (2006) Mugenyi has worked with Afrique Arts Troupe as performer and later in (2017) he became the dance director then later the creative director up to date. Keith Mugenyi has also with the American Embassy of Uganda through the Makerere Spiritual Choir as a tenor singer where they toured around the country in (2019,2020,2022). Keith Mugenyi has also worked with numerous artists in Uganda and out of Uganda as a percussionist. He has also taken part in the KAWAYIDA NZURI a play which was staged in Rwanda at the Ubumumu festival and SHAME ON YOUR HANDS a play staged in Uganda at the national theater, plays written and directed by Mr. Philip Luswata, in all the plays he participated as a percussionist. Keith Mugenyi a music prouder, song writer and a singer who sings afro soul and world music. He also owns a song writing company known as LYRICO and is also a band director of a band called BAND X.
