This November at Njabala Foundation, we are actively planning towards the Njabala Annual Exhibition of 2023. We are elated to announce that Phoebe Boswell is currently mentoring Ugandan artist Mable Akeu towards a body of work anticipated for the exhibition.

Phoebe Boswell's figurative and interdisciplinary practice denotes a commitment of care for how we see ourselves and each other. Underpinned by a porous, diasporic consciousness, she explores modalities of freedom, protest, grief, intimacy, migration, embodiment and world-making within contested histories and imagined futures.

Boswell's drawings, installations and film & video works have been exhibited widely both in the UK and abroad and her practice has received accolades including the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for Artists , Future Generation Art Prize's Special Prize, and the Bridget Riley Drawing Fellowship at the British School at Rome. Boswell received the Lumière Award for major achievements in Film & Video from the Royal Photographic Society in 2021 and is Whitechapel Gallery’s Writer-In-Residence for 2022.
